Fred needs answers in evolution

Fascinating ramblings on a higher force behind nature’s wonders. Evolution and science just aren’t good enough when trying to explain how this complex earth and its systems work so well.

The intent of this essay is not to debate with the ardent of evolutionism, which is the Political Correctness of science. To do so would be pointless.

AM/FM radios will soon disappear

My comment:

Perhaps not in three years, but the time is coming. I rarely use AM, and never use FM. Anyone with more than a 10 minute commute that has any kind of skills will use their smartphone for their audio. With internet-connected consoles, I’ll program my favorite streams on single touch buttons. Heck, I even listen to the latest traffic report that the AM station updates every 10 minutes via a streamable mp3.

Automakers may kill AM and FM radio in two years | MNN – Mother Nature Network.

If you have a high end radio now, you could add my two streams now:

Are we frugivores?

I like my meat and milk, but this does make common sense to me.

Quotes”All available scientific evidence indicates that humans are frugivorous apes.  Regardless of how large and arrogant our cultural egos are, and regardless of unsupportable religious dogma created by ignorant people who knew absolutely nothing of biochemistry, comparative anatomy, genetics, or science thousands of years ago, our physiology is that of a frugivorous ape.”–Laurie Forti

The great gluten-free scam

Science is sponsored by big business. Is it any wonder when science promotes a fiction or invented fact that its benefactor can profit from the “facts”?

Shooting at this conspiracy is easier than hitting fish in a barrel.

Once, pasta and bread were store cupboard staples. Now, many of us are replacing them with ‘healthier’ gluten-free foods. But are they really better for us?

No Child Allowed Ahead

Fred on the (lack of) education system. Yesterday my child was busy deconstructing their carbon footprint — in science! Pathetic propaganda.

Yes, I realize that the schools face many other problems, chief among them that much of the country no longer takes schooling seriously. Pious slogans like No Child Left Behind of course mean No Child Allowed Ahead. Discipline a child and his parents sue. Suspend serious troublemakers and you face charges of racial profiling. Disguising the gap in performance between ethnicities takes precedence of teaching. The stupidest fad is grading teachers on how well their students test, it being impossible to get a class of unintelligent, misbehaving, culturally uninterested students to perform well.

Revert to Skype 3.8 – Download

I am a big believer on checking software before upgrading. This has just started recently for me, since the latest version are either worse or unusable.

Skype is no exception. It is progressively becoming typical Micro$haft bloatware. It always hooks you in with “better audio” and adds all types of options that are far and away from the purpose of the program.

One feature I really liked version 3.8 is search users via many fields, including country and skypeme. Check it out!

Even though there are many new versions of Skype, a large amount of people are still using and searching for Skype 3.8. I think that this is basically because of the new interface that is introduced to us in Skype 4. Many people didn’t like the drastic change – why change something that isn’t broken, right :)?

Update: Skype 4.2 seems to be better. http://en.chat4o.com/skype-4-2/

Be careful to turn off auto-update. Skype updated itself on me back to 5.x, and didn’t even ask me!

Maybe this will stop the insidious skype from updating

I am not rich

An interesting rant about social media and the herd. It’s all over the map but I do like it.

And forget about the lifestyle, I’m locked out of the loop regarding power. That’s what money brings today. The ability to influence, to change or reinforce the rules of the game. I.e. hedge funds’ perpetuation of the carried interest rule. The fact that many readers have no idea what I’m talking about is exactly the point. Let’s just say the rich are getting richer.
